Can somebody explain to me how skynews decides which biographies they put on the Websites and which not? Every presenter is now listet except paula middlehurst and lisa knights although it seems that many more like Chloe Potter, Gemma Morris or Sarah Jane Mee are freelancers as well
Paula Middlehurst and Lisa Knights are freelance. If you read their biographies, you will see that Gemma Morris works full-time for Sky News on the red button and iPad, Sarah Jane Mee is an employee of Sky and Chloe Potter is employed by Sky as a presenter for the Sky News and "interactive media". So those three are all employed at Sky in some way, not just the news channel, whilst the other two are not full-time Sky employees.
But Paula used to be part of the staff?
P.S Isn't it mean by skynews that they only show their 'important' employed presenters.
My point is not to say that Jeremy Thompson has been Sky's hardest working presenter/correspondent this year. He hasn't. I acknowledge Alex Crawford and others like Anna Botting, Lisa Holland, Stuart Ramsay and TIm Marshall have been fantastic for sky this year. Alex actually got my special mention of the year in my Christmas awards! What I'm sating is that Jeremy has worked harder this year than some people on this forum give him credit for. He is in his late 60's and I don't think any of ITN or BBC's top anchors have worked as long and as hard as him (thinking of Mark Austin, Huw Edwards, Alaistair Stewart etc.).

I will agree, he is good, but he hasn't exactly worked hard... it's his job, he's paid to do it, just like everyone else. Late 60's means nothing...many people work past that + I'm sure his hours of work aren't long...

To be fair as a reporter (Alex Crawford) her job is to go off to places to report on the stories, whereas presenters (Jeremy Thompson) are studio based therefore going off on location 3 times is a challenge.
On the subject of presenters, Although I can see the reasoning, it seems stupid not having Paula and Lisa when they appear more often than Gemma and Chloe! And is Paula freelance? Doesn't she present the weekend nsw every week?
Gillian Joseph on 2-5pm today, First time I've seen her doing something other than the secondary sunrise presenter for months
It was also nice to see Colin Brazier back on sunrise for a couple of days this week, Mark Longhurst was doing it on tuesday, I'm going to miss Mark on weekend sunrise but as I don't see it very often hopefully he will be on the 9pm-12am shift, He seems much more friendly than Eamonn, Not a fan of Stephen Dixon but do go through periods of finding him ok and then others of finding him annoying
Most surprised to see Jeremy Thompson on this week, will he get a month off now to recover?
Jeremy Thompson has presented during the Christmas schedule for a few years now for Sky. And I don't know what your obsession is with bringing up his time off. He has done a huge amount of work this year for Sky taking minimal holidays. He has been on a number of OB's for Sky and has been central to all their major coverage during the year. He will probably take a couple of weeks off to recharge the batteries for 2012 after what was a grueling year for him.
I'm not saying Jeremy hasent been busier this year than usual but if he stays on for an extra hour he usually seems to have a few days off to recover, I know he has holidays like everyone else but can sometimes be missing for weeks, do a couple of 2 hour shifts and then be missing for another week or 2, Does he generally do 3 or 4 day weeks?
As for Gillian I do remember seeing her in the sunrise chair for about 20 minutes a while back because the main presenter was late, Might have been Stephen Dixon but obviously I don't see it everyday so she may have done the full thing 1 day
I'm not sure the reason he gets time off though is because he does an extra hour on his shift. For example during the riots he went on until 8 o'clock. He works 4 day weeks and works 5 day weeks on bank holiday weekends.

Well obviously she isn't anymore. Just because someone regularly presents on a channel does not mean they are permanent staff. And what do you mean they only show their "important" presenters? All of the ones employed full time by the channel are on there.
Elm 2011: Gemma and Chloe are employed by Sky full time - they might not be on the television channel that often, but they could be on overnights, on interactive or on the radio service.

Yeah I know that but Paula and Lisa are on screen more, so you though they might have give them a biography on the website! Especially when paula has a regular slot on weekend nsw and Lisa I believe does overnight quite a bit on weekends!
On different note; who's been on today? Sarah-Jane on at the minute, she been on since two?

Just because they are on screen more does not mean they should get a biography - because they aren't Sky employees. Maybe if they worked full time for Sky they would get one.
