I think Anna is a good idea - possibly if Andrew took over the weekday slots, Anna could do the weekend Live at Five. Or vice versa.
Dermot most suited, followed by Anna Botting IMO - but I imagine Kay Burley will just take over Sky News 24/7.

Is there anything that would/could stop her doing both?
Eamonn does Sunrise, This Morning daily and BBC Radio on a Saturday

If she got the One Show, I doubt Charlotte would care about her Sky career
I can't see Charlotte moving to the One Show, it wouldn't suit her, and would ruin her career at Sky.

Agreed. Some people on this forum just don't get it. Primetime BBC One is a massive gig compared to early morning Sky News. It really is a no brainer!
If there was a chance of her getting a significant promotion at Sky in the future she might be persuaded to stay, but it's unlikely. She'll have just watched a load of her colleagues get made redundant so she's probably worried about her own job security where she is.

Unless of course it ends up not working out, at which point she would be isolated from the employer who "discovered" her but also not suited to entertainment programmes, as a presenter like Kate Garraway or Penny Smith would be. Therefore it could, theoretically, backfire on her, such as the case of Emma Crosby.

I find it highly unlikely that Charlotte will get the job but obviously if it is offered she may find it hard to turn down. Having said that I don't think that scenario will arise and I suspect Charlotte's involvement in the highly successful 'Sunrise' format means she is rated and valued by Sky bosses. Unlike many of the 'lesser' presenters on the channel I think Charlotte is a definite candidate to be a main presenter on Sky in the future.
As far as watching 'loads' of people around her being sacked is concerned, while obviously no one likes to see colleagues loose their jobs it is not uncommon in the current climate and I doubt it would come into her consideration particularly as, unlike most of the 10 or so people who left Sky, she is not on the fringes of the channel but a key part of it's most popular show.

In case you missed what I was saying, when Crosby leaves GMTV there aren't likely to be many projects at ITV that she would be suited to, coming from far more of a news and business news background than someone like Penny Smith who has spread her wings somewhat.
Therefore if Charlotte were to go down the same route - leave Sky, which would miff Sky bosses, and land the One Show, but bosses later change their minds about her again she could be left out of a job, seeing as she wouldn't be suited to BBC entertainment programmes and would have blown her chances with Sky. Then again the BBC overall does have far more programmes she would be suited to, but it's still a risk.

exactly. the One Show (or anything on BBC One) is far and above reading the headlines on Sky. I'd be shocked if she turned that down but I doubt she'll be offered it anyway
As much as it is a valid point, how many people think of such risks when accepting a new job?
