So it turns out that Tim Gudgin wasn't quite the sporting legend he had been described as in this thread. Turns out he was doing a job that literally anyone could do.

Further research has revealed that Geoff "Henry VIII" Clark read the official classified scores once also.
Many individuals have read them as part of "Score", a continuation service on the Red Button (during one season you could apply online to do this)
