I know that it depends on when you grew up, but I still think this theme from 2000 is by far the best:

It uses a grand orchestra rendition, but a bit more modern. The logo font is by far the best - and though the new logo wasn't to everyone's tastes, at least it breathed life into it.

I really dislike the current logo and typeface - and whilst that theme isn't too bad, it's no patch on 2000.

I quite like the new Blue Peter, the only thing i'm not to keen on is the titles. Anyway here are a few pictures of the new studio.

Where the desk is positioned in that pic it looks a bit like the Daybreak studio! Laughing

I absolutely agree, love this version of the theme and Konnie, Simon, Matt and Liz were 'my' Blue Peter presenters. Smile

Those two portraits make it look more like this.

Surprised really the badge hasn't been ditched. Anyone here ever have one - or indeed know anyone who did (who'd admit it!)?

It took me until 2009 to earn mine - but I helped break a world record, and even did it alongside "Tim from the news"

I have a "proper" one as in presenter style not competition winner, I think its one of the best things on my little memento shelf Very Happy

Not the best theme tune, but at least they haven't messed up and used the " proper " hornpipe this time! Smile

I think I wrote a few months ago that I thought it should become a kinda 'One Show for kids' and I felt the look of today's show as well as this new idea of having special guest reporters on different subjects, was very 'One Showy'.

I actually think it's good way of doing things and today's episode was probably the least patronising of TV I've seen from CBBC in a while.

Totally agree with you there. Let's hope that this heralds the new beginning for the show, and content wise, not leaving its roots but positively embracing change. The One Show analogy is spot-on IMO.

Why shouldn't they use Barnacle Bill?

Current version is awful. Too chavvy. Appealing to the uneducated underclass. Setting their sights too low. Disappointing.
