The ident played longer than usual before the announcer said 'This is BBC ONE', the PEB slide then appeared in silence (I think) and then the PEB itself started with no sound, and then the breakdown slide appeared and that's where you will have joined it.

He certainly sounded exasperated! Caught it about a minute before the PEB, was it going on much before? Probably the worst time to have a failure, during a PEB as I guess it's has an agreed time to be shown making showing a standby less of an option.

Northern Ireland have an election debate show. Wales have something else. Scotland are the same as England though.

Looks like they've gone back to the original animation; weren't the next/later menus (also the HD filler) initially used for breakdowns post-refresh, accompanied by the ident soundtracks on a loop (naff, I agree)?

I loved the fact he was mid sentence about how the problem was fixed and went straight to black!!
