Ident soundtracks on a loop were used pre-2009 refresh too, as we can see here



I quite liked it to be honest but could have been better edited. Better than that musac.

If there was no sound on the ident or the PEB then it sounds like the audio problem was purely server related. This might explain why alternative audio was played rather than that on the breakdown caption.


I'm sure I've seen a video of a breakdown on a PPB many years ago, on somewhere like YouTube or TV Ark. I assume there's a contingency to reschedule them, although with 1 day left that will be tricky. I bet the Daily Mail reporters are foaming at the mouth

Yes, I recall seeing it happen. It was ITV's playout performed by Thames. No audio, it was a similar mess to last nights, and I think it ended up being replayed the following evening. It might have even ended up as a Friday night playout, in which case LWT may well have had to arrange it (not that that was anything tricky).

There was this break a couple of weeks or so ago with our favourite breathy/raspy female anno.

I've certainly seen one of a Conservative PPB falling off air on Yorkshire, with Redvers Kyle at the announcer's mike.

The dogs soundtrack sounds a bit silly with all the woofing still on it...the Kites one has all the wooshing sound effects removed which makes sense out of vision!

I was under the impression it was a mock someone put on YouTube - I.e. just all the ident soundtracks put over the top of the breakdown slide?

Yeah. I am almost certain that the video is just a mock as his YT channel is full of fictitious breakdowns.

It seems so but there definitely is a video somewhere showing they did use the previous ident music at some point on the breakdown slide.
