Caught a bit of Sky the other night for the first time in ages and Martin Stanford was on. He looked like he'd rather be anywhere else. Clearly not enjoying the NSW slot and who can blame him, it's tedious to watch as well as you can't even have it on in in the background for long with it repeating so much. Also noticed the new weather graphics which are absolutely atrocious and will serve no help to anybody this cold spell except whoever it was that actually designed them! And the fact they are reporting tweets from unofficial or parody accounts as news is hugely embarrassing for them. Nobody is setting out to undermine Sky News as one poster absurdly suggested, they are doing a perfectly good job of making themselves look very silly all on their own.

Lol at your remarks on the new weather graphics. Talk about picking out of nothing? They are perfectly clear what they mean to me. Maybe you got your BBC eyes on.

They are just as bad as the older ones - it's just a big blue mess, you can't tell what's wind, rain, snow or what most of the time!

A new presenter (I think) on Sky this afternoon, Hannah Tallett. She's presenting the news summaries.

Is she the one who has been making occasional appearances on the overnights?

If I remember correctly, she first appeared on screen during the coverage of the 'Big Freeze' earlier this year. She is still a producer for Sky but does now make occasional appearances as a presenter.

It looks like we'll have Kay (again) with Nazaneen Ghaffar on weather duty for Christmas Day Sunrise. Jacquie isn't on sport this year.

Anyone else find Christmas Day Sunrise (this year at least) is the one day Kay's not only bearable, but rather watchable?

Enjoying Sunrise this morning. Good banter between Kay & Rob. Christmas Day wouldn't be the same without Kay. Good of her to do it every year.

Strangeley enough, yes! I do agree.

Somehow, Christmas wouldn't be Christmas without The Three Wise Men and Kay Burley. Her best performance of the year, some would say.

I always find her better sitting down. During Afternoon Live she's always back and forwards at the newswall with those silly short questions or statements.

So she is better when she has a script of somesorts to go off you reckon? I have noticed when she stands at the newswall, she has no papers in her hand, so she probably makes up questions out of her head instead of the pre planned ones.

It could be that or that fact that she had very little to interview this morning, and got on well with Rob and Nazaneen.

In an odd way I think Kay's problem is she tries to be too hard-hitting in her interviews, when she's not all that good at it. She conducted an interview with a troop this morning a little after six and she came across as nice, warm and friendly. I suspect she'd be better suited to a GMTV/ Daybreak-type programme than straight news (if you can call Sky News that).

Kay was good today, maybe a compromise would be to offer her Fri-Sun Sunrise instead of Afternoon Live?

Nazaneen seemed more relaxed working with Rob on the sofa.
