Well obviously it's subjective, but not every piece of design has to have a function.

I'm aware of that, Joe, it just felt a little out of place to me.

One of the very small twitter pics yesterday showed those frosted panels (for want of a better term) lit up in the same colour as the 'pumpkin' coffee table:

Perhaps they just add some colour to the set, other than purple and brown.

I certainly wouldn't object to that.

How do the two sets of This Morning windows differ out of interest? I remember the Albert Dock having a distinct dark patch where the studio was

The slight difference at the Albert Dock is that the pathway on the immediate outside of the studio was covered over by the offices/old warehouses above (as opposed to having nothing above as in the current studio), so there was less chance of sunlight reaching the windows. The red pillars that supported the overhang were painted grey though, presumably to avoid showing up on camera as much. They're still painted grey today if you ever visit - it's easy to spot where the studio was by looking for the 2/3 grey pillars amongst all the red ones!

I think they've also been painted that orangey red now. The former studio is now either a Ha! Ha! Bar and grill or an independent restaurant, I can't remember which.

The people complaining on Facebook seem to be die hard GMTV fans, who love the show despite its many failures ATM. They seem to want the tacky approach which we currently see - many of them are saying they don't want a newsy programme as they could switch to BBC Breakfast for that.

Obviously they aren't aware that Daybreak will be newsy, but quite fun aswell. I assume that many of the people who are complaining will STILL tune in on Monday out of curiosity.

If the daybreak team are to be believed then Daybreak is a new programme, not gmtv with a new name. Frankly the few dozen (at the very most) people complaining on Facebook clearly aren't making ITV enough money in advertising revenues, so I think whether they stick around or not is a bit irrelevant.

This new programme will work brilliantly and attract higher ratings for ITV then GMTV had for years, or it will do moderately well and become some Daybreak/GMTV hybrid, or it will flop and revert to GMTV in an attempt to regain what holding GMTV had.

Either way, the "die hard" fans are pretty irrelevant. Plus they're bound to watch the new show.

This new programme is needed and its part of itvs inititive to attract the top talent and to bring that with the viewers this is nothing to do with GMTV it's a rebranded company Gmtv will cease to exsist , the minority that are complaining on this social networking site wont bring in itv one the revunue they need and the programme was consistently being beaten by its rivals , this is going to be a new show which will keep most of the Gmtv viewers and new viewers who have watched AC + CB In the past combine that with its Graphics , output and presentation then this will be a great success for itv.

I do like the way you repeat what House says but in a different order and a less readable way.
