In other news, Randall & Boulton Unleashed returns tomorrow.
SkyNews.com not making a return until the government is sorted out then?
Looks that way currently, although it could be a one-off tomorrow. I think we’ll get some SkyNews.com by the end of the week though.
Thanks for the info. I do wish we could see more of Martin just presenting the news. I enjoy the SkyNews.com and he is the master of the newswall but most of all he is a superb news presenter.
When they relaunched in 2005, Sky News reinvented the TOTH sequence somewhat by having no real title sequence after the headlines (and after they ditched the studio flythrough, no titles at all). This was compensated for by the gloriously OTT bed, the volume of which was cranked up for the Bruce Hammel voiceover. In effect, the headline bed
was
the opening sequence. It wasn't really a bed at all, it was far too musical to be a bed and that's what made the way it was used OK.
Now Sky News have reverted to using longer titles with a more traditional repetitive bed, but have not adjusted their TOTH sequence to match this, retaining the simple voiceover with a studio/location wideshot. So by way of opening the bulletin we just get "This is Sky News, with whoever" over a nice but dull bed. It's a mess IMO and I'm surprised I'm the first to have mentioned it.
As Friday morning dawned we were told there'd been no clear winners. Not so, Sky News's coverage of the general election was a clear television winner on the night. While the BBC was ponderous and old-fashioned, and ITV felt under-resourced, Sky was first with every extraordinary swing and peculiar recount and updated a battery of key statistics onscreen throughout. The ratings for the BBC were easily the highest because viewers still gravitate there for national events but they missed out. This was yet another unexpected twist given to us by TV during this election, starting with the Leaders' Debates.
Heads up to anyone using the iPhone App to watch live. Don't get the App update if you want to continue without paying a subscription. After the update, pressing 'Watch Sky News Live' links you to the Sky Mobile TV App which requires a £6/month subscription after 3 months. If you have updated, it is possible to rescue the older version from the Recycling Bin/Trash as long as you haven't emptied it.

I updated yesterday to version 1.2.2
Just had a check and I'm still getting the live feed as before, free with no logins etc.
I would think Sky News would remain free to view on the iPhone app.
