Dermot Murnaghan doing a 3 way interview on Sky News, one subject is giving short answers in a full frame and then it cuts to a 3 way split and he is seen, what I understood as, 'the fuuu-' before it cut back to the subject.

Glad it wasn't just me that saw that. His hands seemed up be up and got the impression he was in the middle of saying "what the fu*k!" but it cut away to soon

Yes, I took it as that as well. Don't blame him though, my reaction would be like that too.

Does Sky News sound like it is being broadcast by daleks at the moment to anyone else?

EDIT: Never mind, they appear to be exterminated now

Seems some overnight engineering work is going on at Sky News.

SD has been changed from the usual separate feed to a direct downscaled simulcast of HD, as this hour is going out in HD but with the SD graphics (unlike when I've seen this happen before where a recording of the previous hour in SD goes out upscaled on HD).

The ad break (on HD) before the TOTH also failed to play, giving us the international breakfiller, and the HD logo and ticker appeared (automatically I presume) over the TOTH, which was quickly faded down and replaced with the SD logo and ticker.

Graphics on SD are now 16:9 safe:

Seems to have been on a repeat loop all night from midnight, Now on sunrise it looks like the HD graphics on SD which looks quite nice but I still prefer the 2 line strap on SD than the single strap HD and the logo is smaller like the HD version but just says sky news which makes me think this is something new rather than temporary

It's not temporary. They're promoting the new graphics on the ticker, and on the Sky website as well.

Are the SD graphics the same size as the HD graphics now then?

I kinda liked the straps with two lines of text rather than one. Much easier to read.
