Know this isn't really the right place to put this (not worth starting a new thread tbh!) but just thought I'd share and highlight how well I think the production crew who were brought in (Bow-Tie television) to do the OB's coped with the rather cramped/tight car park for the Politics Show! Being a King Ed's student, I was lucky enough to see the set-up and the prep involved for the show which aired on Sunday (recorded last Friday).
Quite how they managed to fit the props van, sat truck (when the show was live) and OB truck within the narrow confines of the car park, I don't know... but they managed some how.

(These are the trucks which back onto where the hall was located... also many students all waiting to see Cameron!)
Was also lucky enough to go into the main hall where all the filming was taking place (the final debate with David Cameron was filmed last Friday) and got to talk with the lighting director (one of the few who were actually from the BBC) as to how the hall was tricky to light and get right - and how he was bought in after the "shambles" of a first show (in his words!) to get it just perfect. Interesting to note, that he wanted to change to colour of the LED lights positioned around the hall to reflect to colour of the party... but the director didn't warm to this idea and wanted them to stay the normal Politics Show house colour (understandable really). He was also worried about the sun coming out through the main windows, which would have evidently caused many issues - so there were a team of people ready and waiting to rig filters onto the windows, should this have happened.
There was also an autocue controller/setup there too and got to talk to the man involved with this as to what it entailed. Seemed quite pointless to have the autocue there really (was only on the steadi-cam) as it was only used for the intro, handover to regions and closing sequences. Surely Jon could have learnt the lines?! After Jon came in and did a few rehearsals for his links and the positions he was supposed to be in - everything was ready for recording.
Was also priviledged to get the chance to shake Jon Sopel's hand too.
He was a really nice down to earth chap who took his time to speak to everyone (tbh, it was only me along with a few other politics students who knew who he was!). Was difficult to get a good shot, but here he is just below the Reception sign before Cameron arrived.

Bit annoyed I didn't take some pics of the set up from behind the cameras, but there wasn't really much to see... just a large plasma for the guests to view (VTs) and a stand for the steadi-cam operator who was there to put his camera on when it wasn't being used. Along with the lighting desk and autocue controller on the stage!
Oops they started to put the wrong edition of 'The Politics Show' on just, the Nick Clegg one, not Cam the Sham.
They've fixed it now.
