It looks a lot more professional and very smart - it also looks easy to modify things if it were necessary.
In the middle of the screens behind the presenters there is quite a bad join in one of the screens (it was apparent when the weather used to come from that part of the set pre. makeover).
I thought they may start doing the weather from the studio, but obviously at the mo thats not the case.
Have to see what the new countdown is like!
BTW - Freeview still lists the channel on the EPG as BBC NEWS 24, whereas Sky now just says "BBC NEWS". Can someone let us know what cable says.
Thanks.

BBC News (24) has taken on a World News style countdown ending. Towards the end of it, you could dance to it. Shame they are still live action pictures instead of graphics.
Its funny to see '503 BBC NEWS' on the Sky EPG. And wrong.

Err, you still half asleep in the dark or something? Or just blind?
Everything is a boring peice of rubbish to you isn't it? You don't like anything, just like we don't like you.
I think you'll find that most people would prefer a video countdown to watching the same globe spinning for 60 seconds. Two people have already agreed with me since Martin's post.
Its not about agreeing with you, its about the rude way in which you go about it.
Pot, kettle etc!

Hopefully it's Martin's. It would be a terrible decision if they had that boring piece of rubbish as the countdown.

I didn't think News 24 ever used thunderclaps? I don't like the TOTH bed, its boring and old, sounds too much like BBC Worlds 2007 WNT bed before they gave it a makeover.

Oo-er, a return of the thunderclaps on News 24. Er, BBC News.
Countdown looked pretty good. Loved the BBC World (News) style logo at the end of it.
