New Meridian, BBC South & South East Thread

This really is awful news, how on earth could they rate Sangeeta over Debbie?!? Debbie has been on regional TV down here since the 80's, she regularly presented programmes on TVS & has been with Meridian from the word go. Saqngeeta must surely be sleeping with one of the producers or something, as I have seen her presenting "skills" & she is bloody rubbish!

Well it will be South Today for me instead...

Perhaps she is less expensive to employ in that position.

It is a real shame that Debbie is going, but ITV probably it would be best for one presenter from Meridian SE And Meridian S To present so viewers will be more familiar with at least 1 presenter. As for Thames Valley anyone know what is happening to Wes and Mary?
As for Fred and Sangheeta I would have prefered Helen James IMO. So goodbye to Ian, Debbie, Wesley, Mary and some very good reporters. Regional news is the south seems like it will never be the same again.

Im sure Wesley will pop up somewhere else again soon!

This just gets better each day. I cannot stand Sangeeta...and I'll say again, if they're turning Meridian Tonight into just a features programme then she'll be 10x worse!

In recent times Meridian has never been 'your programme' but 'what we think you'll like' programme and it can only go downhill from here.

ITV is a business and cost-cutting means.. cost-cutting. Sod the viewers.

You can bet Sangeeta will annoy Fred like mad.

Nice screw-up from Meridian SE this evening by playing out the entire weather bulletin from Thames Valley. Ian did apologise afterwards during the very quick ending to get to the ads.

Oh and we seem to have lost the sponsor in recent weeks too.

No mention of her going on Meridian Tonight then ? There must a number of viewers OAP's etc who have'nt a clue what is going on, so she has been there the longest that's why she got the job I guess

Anyone know about the Weather presenters, was it ditto with them ?

It seems to be Yeo Valley Organi, London, West and Meridian do not have a sponsor for weather. Kind of better in a way.
