Honest had the standard ECP and blue-bar next time slide last night. Such a great shame that they haven't ditched these ugly generic straps and let programme makers have free reign.

It is. What I have noticed about the blue bars is that they haven't squashed the credits for quite a while, and they simply move them to the right.

If they insist on having generic credits, then they should just tell the TV companies that they have to have a particular font, size etc but a background of their choice. That works well on Dancing on Ice.

They're just ugly. Luckily Moving Wallpaper / Echo Beach had simple black credits, and Echo Beach used the Echo Beach font.

Neither used a 'Next time' blue bar, though it remains to see with previously. Kudos might ignore ITV and use their own. Wink

In other news, ITV is to broadcast the Naked Civil Servant sequel and a new drama starring Ray Winstone; http://www.guardian.co.uk/media/2008/jan/11/itv.television and http://www.guardian.co.uk/media/2008/jan/11/itv.television1.

Both 90 minutes, presumably for Sunday nights or Fridays with 30 minutes of comedy on the other side.

Nice to see ITV with a decent weekend schedule for once- sure, it's never going to beat the mid-90s one mainly provided by LWT, but it's a step in the right direction.

I never thought I'd be praising Grade and ITV- but well done. Very Happy

Anyone seen the newspaper advert for the weekend lineup? Like a diary page saying what's on each day, and the background is an overhead shot of what looks like a village, or some houses and fields, with loads of rainbows everywhere.

Not how I'd market it, to be honest, but there you go.

A bit OT but I didn't think it was worth starting a new thread. ITV are reviving 'Mr & Mrs' in March with Phil & Fern as hosts. Of course though it will be 'Celebrity Mr & Mrs'.

Or presumably it'll actually be "All Star...", because ITV seem to think that that means it's not the same thing... Rolling Eyes

Didn't ITV resort to Mr & Mrs last time they overhauled their schedules?

So far ITV1 will probably be quite happy with the debut performances of their major new programmes, but whether you're a pessimist or pad, I think you have to agree that Saturday looks like the weak link in the schedule.

I think alot of faith is being put in Primeval anchoring the schedules - but I think it's Thank God You're Here which probably is the weakest link.

On paper it could be a very good show and it has done amazingly well in Australia, though in America I think it was one of those one-show-wonders.

The trouble is whether it fits into ITV1's Saturday night schedules - the performance of shows like Saturday Night Live recently suggests it might struggle.

Not off topic, and thanks for the info.

I wonder if we'll see any presentational changes tonight? It is after all the start of their new weekend schedule.

Was it either confirmed or denied as to whether or not things are being refreshed? It does seems strange that all the trailers for next week use non-standard graphics.

Mr Grade, you are the weakest link. Goodbye.

I do agree that Saturday night looks pretty carp; Primeval and Millionaire are good, but IMO Dancing on Ice should really be on a Saturday. It just won't fit on Sunday IMO.
