Somewhat off-topic:

Has anything else been said about that suspected letter bomb in Leicester? News 24 briefly mentioned something at about 13:45 but I've heard nothing since.

I work in a government office in Leicester, so as you might imagine I'm quite interested in knowing whether my work place will still be there on Monday!

It's a bit irritating that News 24 have been on silent on something that was dominating the news yesterday.

I've just had the most hilarious thought - well I think it is.

While listening to the News 24 countdown with it's rather funky music, I wondered what the newsreaders do while it's on and they're waiting for the TOTH.

I reckon they bop their heads along to the music, swing in their chairs, and do a bit of air drumming during the drum bits in the countdowns.

Yes I know, they probably don't, they're probably too busy sorting things out, but it's a thought that amused me, and I don't think I'll be able to watch a countdown when I know who's going to appear at the TOTH without thinking of them dancing to it! Laughing

Wasn't there something on BBC World where the gallery faded out of the title sequence half way through and you could see the presenter and the business/sport girl both bopping their heads and doing arm actions in time. Both oblivious to the fact that it was going out

There is a clip of (I think) David Jessel and Dharshini David bopping to the 2003-era music in unison at the BBC World desk; it's floating around on the internet somewhere.

That entire sequence shows how much News 24 has let it's hair down in the last few years. It's a better advert for the channel than the proper ones! The bits with Simon McCoy are fantastic, with Kate and John being very funny too! They should kick out the usual lot who do Children in Need and get them three and Emily on - it'd be hilarious.

A new position for the clock today, sitting in a black box within the ticker area.

Looks fairly awful to be honest.

nasty....a real shame. Doubtfully the design teams fault. It all looked great on my screen before anyway.

Suppose this is what happens when people complain about things they know not. Sad

There's also a pretty unpleasant fade effect where the ticker runs out to the left behind the clock. What a shame.
