I think the Turkish Airlines ad seen on BBCWorld even more than the "Who's next in the hot seat" one is one of the most annoying things ever.
I just can't help switching to another channel as soon as I hear "The skies are changing".

ditto for the "Press and join our viewer panel" ad which has been aired at every break for more than a year. Talking of annoying commercials, let's remind ourselves that the "Red sea riviera" presentation was first seen on the channel in march 2004 and since then has been put to air more than extensively. Guess i'll go mad next time it's aired!

Well, at least the Red Sea Riviera one hasn't got that creepy voice ("the breeeeaaatth of Mediterraaaaaanean").

Anyway, I'm really impressed by the outstanding number of correspondents and reporters displaced in the Middle East by the BBC.

Indeed.

They must have their work cut out arranging the August presenter rotas and wardrobe allocations.

No time to go seriously off-topic answering silly e-mails.

oi you, no. I won't have any of that chat in my new BBC World thread. It's turgid.

Now stopit or I'll cut your broadband cable and keep the gates shut when the BT man arrives

But how do you know Nick is on broadband Wink

Who really cares though... that has nothing to do with BBC World.

Good to see Adnan back this week.

oh do shush. In the *all new* BBC World thread, we shall be discussing things in the manner we discuss them in every other thread. Light hearted and interestingly.

If you want to discuss rotas, get a job in HR. I'm sure there's a company that'll let you murder cats as a perk.

More importantly, could someone please cap this "viewers panel" advert? I've often seen it being derided on here but haven't actually seen it.

Plus am I right in presuming the turkish airlines adverts are local rather than international?

Right. I think he did quite a good job covering the WC in Berlin. But I still can't figure out why they kept showing photographs from the soccer pitch instead of airing video footages as they usually do in their regular sport round ups. That was most weird and disappointing.

I thought it was against decency guidelines to film inside toilets.

Or are you talking about his bottom covering the seat?

Because the BBC only had UK rights for the pictures. For the same reason all football reports were blanked out on the broadband news feeds

Impossible, it's aired 24 hours a day.

I hope so, hopefully somewhere in the world people don't have to suffer this daily torture.

Or are you thinking about f*cking off if you don't have anything sane to say?

It was good to see David Eades and Sally this morning on The World Today. They really need to get a new bulb for the desk. Its getting darker!
