Did anyone see the Peter Barlow special on ITV2 tonight? I thought it was good, although having that Richard Arnold and that other woman on there so much annoyed me,!

No I didn't. I don't know which women you are going on about but one soap critic that annoys me is that new one on This Morning, she's dire, and its obvious she's one who's biased to EastEnders

She works for the news of the world I think, I didnt catch her name - she was on far too much though, although thankfully we had no Tina Baker on this show (she is one critic who really does get on my nerves!) Im not sure the one you are talking about on This Morning as ive not really seen it for ages but Steven Murphy editor of Inside Soap is by far the most Eastenders biased IMO - calls himself a Corrie fan!! They better give Corrie the cover this week (or even Emmerdale im not bothered) otherwise I might storm out in a huff! Laughing I demand that Tracey is on that cover as she has a big storyline next week
Thank God I only have 4 issues left on my subscription - from then on im *only* buying it when they have a Corrie or Emmerdale cover, which will probabaly be about 5 covers a year out of 51 (they have a double issue for the 2 weeks at Xmas so 51 issues not 52!) I can get spoilers from All About Soap and TV Choice/TV Times/TV Quick (which ever had a Corrie/Em cover Laughing

Btw Andrew - if you wanted to catch that Peter Barlow special its being repeated at 11.35pm tonight on ITV2

Yes I'm planning on doing. I was expecting to watch it later on in the week but it seems its only repeated tonight, which is unusual for ITV2

It turns out the News of the World women from the Peter Barlow programme is the This Morning critic as well.

Some comments about today's show....

In relation to Dev, never mind Sat-Nav for the cabs isn't it about time he got an electronic till in at the corner shop, Todd was using a manual pricing gun!

And Baldwin saying he had loads of deliveries coming, couldn't they use that special back entrance, remember the one Joe Carter used when he robbed the place and has never been seen before that or since!

Is that the one who isn't very popular with viewers? She replaced Jaci Stephen I think.

Wasn't Jaci Stephen the one who gave a good review about The Terry and Gaby Show? I think Granada went OTT over her sacking.

Im sure you agree that woman is really annoying, on that prog last night she just wouldnt shut up - think she likes the sound of her own voice that one! Why should the corner shop have a more modern till? Its only a tiny shop, not all small shops have them.

What did everyone think of the new builder character on Corrie tonight - I quite like the character, apparently he is supposed to be a modern Len Fairclough (Rita's late husband) although in the repeats of Corrie ive seen Len seemed a lot more hot tempered than this new bloke.

I cant believe how hypocritical Bev is! She said Lucy was wrong going after someone else's boyfriend and now she is doing the same thing!

Grrr at What's On TV - they've got Kat Slater and Shane Ritchie on the cover again and the caption is - "we're engaged ... but is he already married?" - been there done that on Coronation Street.

Also, in the corner in a little box they have "Roy's wedding day trauma" - so Kat getting engaged is more important than a wedding?!

It REALLY annoys me how What's On TV favours Eastenders like this. They have things like "Kat and Shane Ritchie - let's go out with each other" as the title story, then in the corner they have "Peter Barlow exposed in pub".

Ever thought it might be because its more commercially viable to have EastEnders covers rather than Coronation Street.

Irrelvant of ratings, they sell more copies of the magazine if it has an EastEnders cover on more often than Corrie. Otherwise it would be the other way around. Simple as.

Well I don't see how that means it will be more "commercially viable." If there was an Eastenders cover on "Sugar" magazine, then I would understand, because it's known that teenage girls watch EE rather than Corrie. Whereas, things like Inside Soap and What's on TV are aimed at the "housewife" market; who are in turn more likely to watch Corrie. If that's the case, then it's not commercially viable!

And don't most people tend to buy the same issue every week anyway. Would a regular WoTV reader decide to buy a TV Quick if it happened to not have Kat Slater on the front, They'll still be Eastenders inside!

YAY - Inside Soap had a Corrie cover today! At Long Last! I take back all I said about Inside Soap, all is forgiven (for now)! They also printed a letter about Shortland St in Inside Soap, apparently the guy who deals with the letters literally cant get to his desk for all the complaints they had re SS!

I dont know why the TV Mags think more people will buy their mags if EE is on not Corrie, Corrie has been popular for almost 43 years and has been on more than twice as long as EE.

Andrew, I noticed it was your old friend on the Whats on TV Cover today YET AGAIN Rolling Eyes oh well im not to bothered as long as Inside Soap had a Corrie cover!
