Ah, but you will note that this programme is actually from after the speech, hence Dermot announcing all the measures at the start of the programme. That was one of the years when they didn't do it live but, as I say, did an extended teatime news with Budget branding.

They'd certainly started doing it again when the news moved to 6.30 in 1999, I remember it was the second day of the new schedule.

Nina perhaps unsurprisingly on NaT tonight. Guessing we’ll see a mix of her and probably Charlene for the next two weeks whilst Tom, Julie and Rageh self isolate for the next two weeks after returning home from the US yesterday.

I don’t want to get into rotas, but it’ll be interesting to see who they use on Friday

Interesting to note that Peston's recording was delayed tonight whilst the news, that broke just before 2100, of musical chairs in Number 10 was digested. Now in progress some 20mins late. Very fluid situation with suggestions that Dominic C might now move on. (Not a political point - but used to illustrate the level of the 'problem' in 10 Downing St).

The programme should complete recording during NaT and when it goes to air after it could be out of date.

One example of the risks we discussed when the move to late evening and being recorded was announced has occurred.

Is it still streamed live?

They have often switched to live episodes on eventful nights, but maybe in this case although many would cheers Cummings going more than Trump with the personnel involved being advisors rather than politicians they took the gamble.

Ironic though that if reports are to be believed it all stems from the appointment of Peaton's former screeny sidekick causing a few waves at No 10.
