My main complaint is that it he game play doesn’t have enough variables, unless the contestant gets the first question wrong, there is very little in the game play that means the contestant won’t be on screen for about 15-20 mins every time.

There is no ‘end game’ but also as in Millionaire no way for a contestant to do something that means they stay on for longer.

Not really keeping track of it but are the higher higher offers offering less time than the higher offers of around £50k?

Here are the offers of cash / time for each contestant so far. In spoilers obviously.

But the contestant so far who answered most questions in the cash builder hasn't had the highest offer. I guess this happens in the daytime show as well though.

Show 1

Contestant 1 - £3,000 cash builder, highest offer £90,000 (50 seconds)
Contestant 2 - £2,000 cash builder, highest offer £40,000 (45 seconds)
Contestant 3 - £3,000 cash builder, highest offer £100,000 (55 seconds)
Contestant 4 - £2,000 cash builder, highest offer £75,000 (53 seconds)

Show 2

Contestant 1 - £2,000 cash builder, highest offer £75,000 (56 seconds)
Contestant 2 - £4,000 cash builder, highest offer £80,000 (50 seconds)
Contestant 3 - £2,000 cash builder, highest offer £50,000 (48 seconds)
Contestant 4 - £2,000 cash builder, highest offer £50,000 (39 seconds)

The £2000 offers are most comparable I guess and generally the higher the cash the less the time advantage. With the higher amounts I guess it's risk v reward when you consider £80k with a 10 second head start and £100k with a 5 second head start. Arguably the £80k far more winnable.

Maybe rather than cash the qualifier element should be for time, and then the offers for more cash knock time off. The tricky element though there is you need the starting point to be somewhere between 30-45 seconds to make it work.

Yes I think the qualifier should be for time. Maybe 5 seconds off the Chasers clock for every correct answer up to a maximum 25 seconds.

It links the qualifier better to the end game.

Yes, working in that sort of change would probably make more sense, rather than some of the more wholesale changes which have been suggested here.

Removed - misunderstanding of the format.

There’s something I’ve just noticed, which I absolutely LOVE! When Bradley says let’s play, the lights are beat matched to the music!

The lighting is brilliant. The whole set is actually but the graphics let it down slightly.

I posted that a few pages ago, and for Monday and Tuesdays episodes, the lighting wasn’t in sync with the music. It seems to have improved for tonight so this must be further in to the recording, even though Bradley is wearing the same suit and audience members are different behind him when he asks the questions during the final for every contestant.

What studio is this recorded in as it says BBC Studioworks in the credits?

It’s made at Elstree, apparently.

I had no idea what time on 'the Chasers' clock' meant when watching for the first time so was confused by the offers. When putting in their bids, instead of the Chasers saying "we would like [40] seconds on our clock", I feel it would make much more sense to say "we'll give you a [20] second head start". Much more easy to understand the impact on the player that way.

How can you say ‘apparently’ if the Twitter post is from Elstree Studios?
