A lovely, poignant end to News at Ten tonight:

Let’s just say the curtain has been installed for many years and will make further appearances, for its original purpose, in the years to come.

For when the final curtain comes...

Exactly. Been some arguments about if Easter Eggs are essential but that one bit of normality and a brief treat is probably more important than ever.

Not only that, if they're not sold because they're deemed not essential that's quite a lot of food waste when they expire.
Chocolate lasts a long time - I can imagine them having Best Before Dates that are after Easter 2021.

I’ve noticed almost every program on BBC World News seems to have the 12+ age guidance. Any specific reason for this?

I’m assuming it’s a curtain

It looks very good. I'm assuming it's similar to the gauze blinds which were used for BBC Persia when they had their night view over to All Souls Church. You could still see the headlights of moving traffic through the gauze.

EDIT: This is quite a bad pic . . . but you know what I mean.

Maybe they do listen to us sometimes

Is there a Cyc rail in front of the window into the newsroom? I wonder if there might be an opportunity to put up a gauze similar to the one they used to have in Millbank for emergency use to blur the newsroom a bit?

Twelve hours since the broadcast in question, and not a single image or video of this yet on TVF!

Use your influence, Steve......

Do news programmes even appear on iPlayer? Those programmes go out of date fast.

The blinds on the old BBC Persian window were to stop reflections of studio lights/Autocue etc at night. One of the blinds was gauze to show the twinkly lights of Regent Street, and the camera had to be lined up in exactly the right position for the streetlights to be in the right place. During the day there were ND blinds, with ND filter wheels on the cameras, to control the sunlight (up to a point). The ND couldn't control the light hitting the presenters or guests.
