Is he freelance?

He surely must be if he's presenting two shows on different channels.

Well I think his main job now is Director at Freuds but this must allow him to do broadcasting freelance as and when he wants to or is requested to by the various broadcasters

Was he inside or in a car at the time? I’m asking because you wouldn’t have a laptop outside in the middle of a hurricane.

He was outside when the tree fell on him and was able to climb out of the branches without any help.

Okay. I was curious as there was no noise and that he said the laptop was destroyed which made me infer he was inside. I’m wondering where he is as the islands have been seeing heavy rain for the past 12 hours.

Here’s an image of him climbing out as a thumbnail.

I think this is becoming more commonplace in the UK, I wonder why only now though?

It has been much more common abroad (thinking of the US and France in particular), with many journalists having morning shows on TV/Radio on one network and afternoon/evening shows on another. Even primetime journalists and presenters - notably Anderson Cooper doing CNN, CBS 60 Minutes and various other projects, Bianna Golodryga is substitute on CNNI's Quest Means Business as well as being CBS business correspondent. In France, most overnight shift news presenters (TV5Monde, France 24, occasionally other networks) and half of all foreign corespondents can be seen on various channels. Only recently now we're getting Duncan Golestani doing ITV London late then the 2am BBC News and Claudia-Liza did a few outlets simultaneously before Channel 5.

Does the whole BBC/ITV salary disclosure thing have anything to do with it? I don't think it would but who knows?

With French weather presenters, they don't just turn up on different channels in the same country, but also turn up on neighbouring countries channels.

Daniela Prepeliuc used to work on TV5MONDE and CNEWS in Paris and RTL-TVi in Brussels, she's now contracted to BFMTV. Tatiana Silva also used to work in Belgium as well as France before being contracted to TF1 and LCI and Claire Delorme who works for Météonews in Zurich also works for C8 on their overnight book reading strand.

It's also more common in France to work in radio and tv, it's not so strange there to have a daytime France 2 presenter also work on radio station Europe 1 than to have Jeremy Kyle work for ITV and talkRADIO or Kate Garraway on GMB and Smooth Radio.

How about a weather presenter who presents in two languages (albeit within the same country)? Belgian meteorologist David Dehenauw presents the weather on both the Dutch-language channel VTM and the French-speaking RTL-TVI, and he also does forecasts for VRT Radio 2. He also advised Steve Fossett on his round-the-world balloon and plane flights.

Did she ever do any Sunday Breakfast cover as well? Sad news, however as her peak was with Richard Bacon on 5 Live, followed by her cancer podcast which is a must listen.

I don't think she ever covered Sunday Breakfast. She did though do some News Channel shifts several years ago before Five Live moved to Salford.
