Such sad news and I can't give enough credit to Rachel for the way she handled her cancer - the You, Me and the Big C podcast has rightly received a lot of praise and she was one of the better 5 Live presenters.

She was the BBC at its very best and I'm sure will be much missed by her colleagues, friends and family. Thoughts are with them all.

Samira Hussain has returned from her lengthy hiatus as a North American Business Correspondent this week, presenting from the New York Stock Exchange. Not sure what she was doing, as her twitter feed provided no clues, same with Michelle Fleury (who disappeared around the same time).

She was on maternity leave, Aaron mentioned it on Wednesday’s Talking Business

Celia Hatton did an extended first shift on World today. Chris Rogers has now taken over.

Seeing less and less of Tim these days, actually.

Willcox now back on World today. We’ve just gone straight into the 8pm Bulletin (5pm London) without any countdown and straight to thunderclaps at the end of an advertisement. Odd.
