All the Central News West revamps every few months certainly kept their graphics and set designers busy! I'm still looking for clean copies of the 1988 West intro, sting and summary to go with my outro and East version - I'll put another plea over on the request page Crying or Very sad

Central certainly produced some of this country's best regional news titles in the late 90s. Even after the demise of the cake, they looked great. I was rather fond of these from Central News South which look uncannily similar to the current ITV News identity...

There isn't a video of it anywhere (that I can find anyway) but the titles and theme for Central News East in 2002 are my favourite.

TV Ark used to have all this. They had loads of Central News clips from all three regions.

The theme (without video) is available here:

This theme is quite similar to the Westcountry Live theme from the same era:

Woah! Westcounty Live, a lovely set let down by that awful backdrop that is seen through most of the programme - inside I'm screaming just looking at it!

Not sure I'd describe that set as lovely. Apricot and dark wood coupled with a Unicol plasma stand and some bizarre blue swooshes (nodding to the sea?)? Looks like it's been squeezed into a corner too.

That was a very short-lived set which only lasted around 3 years. It was launched in 2002, was adapted in 2004 following the ITV plc merger, and then was changed to the generic ITV set in 2005.

I quite like them, never thought of the sea connection, but of course they're the shape of the region.

Very similar to the livery of First Great Western they introduced a few years later http://static.alancoleman.co.uk/wp-content/uploads/2016/04/swindon1.jpg

Channel TV still don't have a replacement male presenter on their local programme so Matt teale covered Monday to Wednesday this week, then back on Central Thursday. He is due to be back over to Jersey next week too.

Wesley Smith seems to be popping up a lot at the moment with summer hols being covered. He has presented the last couple of Friday late bulletins. Always a pleasure to see him on screen. Will we ever see him as a main anchor again with his own region I wonder.

Matt Teale on a rare Sunday shift at Central fronting a pan-regional bulletin live from Leicester.

EMT had Maurice Flynn anchoring from the studio, but had a live from the stadium.
