Or possibly 5:20am if the upload description and the Sky Text is anything to go by. Technically none of BSB's channels ever broadcast 24 hours. Sky News was the first 24 hour station on Marco Polo.

I thought Septic Peg was hilarious at the time. The Brian Conley Show was a proper variety show with music, comedy, sometimes even a bit of magic. In fact it was possibly the last true variety show of its kind?

Considering Tonight at the London Palladium is on the air as we speak, probably not. It is, however, what I'd call one of the last "vehicle" shows for a talent where they can show off all of their abilities. The Brian Conley Show proved his ability as a comedian, a singer, a sketch performer, game show host (for one series) and whatever else they'd throw at him. Nowadays, anybody in his place would probably be given a chat show, as proven when Brian's show was revived in 2000. Maybe the variety boom as a result of BGT could make way for shows like this again. It's just a shame a lot of famous faces nowadays aren't talented enough to carry one.

Mystic Meg was one of those things that was just ripe for send-up, the material practically writes itself.

Yes I wasn't really counting that as it's a revival and as you say, The Brian Conley Show was a very specific type of variety show which was a vehicle for a personality. There used to be loads in this genre but I can't really think of any since then. Not of that type anyway - I guess you could count some of the Barrymore shows but they weren't quite the same.

Interesting to see Jo Whiley in there, I presume she must have been an unknown back then. I'm guessing that show was a repeat or something, or were they really putting shows like that out live/first showing at that time in the morning?
