Channel 4 News reporters really getting into it. Really good programme tonight.
But still suffering from the same execrable delays on their video interviews, it seems. And Paxman still doesn't seem to have the hang of throwing to a break.
I think the other channels could take leaf out of their book and have an audience, if only to breathe some hint of life into proceedings. Outside of direct guest interviews, the BBC just seems to be a bit of a bumble. Haven't seen much ITV, not Tom Bradby's biggest fan by any means, but it does seem a bit more watchable.
David you are right. The studio audience is what makes the Channel 4 coverage better to watch.
Poor Jeremy, so used to his time at the BBC, he is not used to throwing to commercial breaks.
BBC this election have just gone to sleep. No energy, not surprising with the election dinosaur anchoring it. This is his tenth election night as anchor, and 38 years Dimbleby has spanned as election night host. That must be a record?
At least his dad Richard had some charm. I have seen the 1955, 1959 and 1964 BBC election coverage on YouTube and Richard was very good for presentation in that era. Charming, witty and professional. His son could do with watching these gems again and try to bring a but of energy and warmth into his anchoring.
David Mitchell's wIt makes the Channel 4 coverage more entertaining than the others imo. I loved his comments earlier about 'these programmes' being aired at the wrong times. They should wait until the morning when results are in rather than speculating and having a chat.
Channel 4 has won hands down as the best coverage for me. The Jeremy Paxman and Matt Frei bantering is just wonderful. This is how election night coverage should. So far, well done Channel 4.
