Possibly the wrong place, but ITV are celebrating 2m followers on Twitter...

And they're tweeting back bespoke songs to followers/mentions:

Just a random observation... the cast credits for Benidorm are in this format:

Joyce Temple-Savage SHERRIE HEWSON
Tiger Dyke DANNY WALTERS

Rather than the usual style. Is this unique?

OMG: HARRY HILL'S ALIEN FUN CAPSULE is one of the funniest I have seen on tv in a while, its on par with Alright on the night, I cant believe ITV come up with this gem of happyness.

It is brilliant. A spectacular return to form for Harry Hill that's destined for Saturday nights.

Couldn't agree more. After hitting a bit of a dud with Stars in Their Eyes.... this is essentially TV Burp with guests and internet clips. Therefore less demanding for Harry to make bur just as funny. A success!

Might be a bit off-topic, but not worth a thread of its own, but I'm not sure tonight's CA (same one as last week) has ever seen an episode of *Broadchurch*. From the way she cheerily trails it, and calls it "Tennant and Coleman time," she makes it sound like a whacky knock-about comedy romp.

It really isn't, in case anyone else wasn't sure.

I find that about a lot of ITV announcers, they seem more like its just another voice over gig rather than proper corporate TV people that live and breathe the output.

From my experience, yes. Especially the ones that also do radio. But there are some that are proper voice actors/artists, who are ultra professional rather than just a 'gig'.

What's funny is, I was about to follow this up with, I bet many of them couldn't handle a breakdown, and would be lost without the script that they obviously just read out...

Yeah that was a bit poor - a bit deer in the headlights, if I'm honest. Channel 4's lot would at least try to be funny with it. Might as well run a pre-recorded generic apology.

Indeed, her first apology, it was almost as if she wasn't paying attention and couldn't even remember what programme was actually being transmitted at the time.

Best announcer I can ever remember is the guy that used to do Channel 5 in the early days - he used to do most evenings and would always have something to say about the programmes, particularly Family Affairs. Always good to feel an announcer is as invested in the programming as the viewer.
