I believe that BBC and ITV regions aligned more in the years running up to digital switchover. I think there were some relays that took ITV Yorkshire and BBC North West until about 10-15 years ago.

Lincoln Central took ITV Yorkshire and BBC East Midlands while it was analogue only. No idea what it takes now.

Lincoln Central is now a full relay of Belmont, so has Look North Hull. Gravesend was another that used to take BBC1 from Bluebell Hill and ITV from Crystal Palace, that relay is now CP only, so BBC London.

Yep the Central region no longer serves any part of Lincolnshire I believe, bar Grantham area.

People living in the west side of Lincoln such as around the University and towards Hykeham will have their aerials pointing at Waltham (or maybe even Emley Moor as I once did) as Belmont is blocked by the topography of the "Lincoln cliff".

The Lincoln Central relay serves a small area to the eastern part of the city in the valley of the River Witham. The tower block it sits on is tall enough to see Belmont over the "cliff".

John Shires hasn't been on as much in years, I think he's done 4 weeks solid. A slight amusing dig at Christine and her Fridays off at the end when they said see you tommorow, John said 'I will, you won't'

What with his ongoing like/dislike of Jon Mitchell, You don't know what he will say next sometimes.

I have always found John's dry wit highly amusing and comes across like he doesn't care regarding all the ITV plc political correctness. A true YTV stalwart. I would much prefer him and Gaynor to be the main anchors all the time.

Looks like Amy Garcia will be doing Monday to Wednesday with Lara staying on and now doing Thursday and Friday.

Nicola Rees hasn't presented for weeks, (Amanda, Charlotte, Keeley etc have been doing Friday's lately) and looks to have moved to reporting

They blamed "technical issues": https://twitter.com/looknorthBBC/status/794965434609139712

But I wouldn't be surprised if this was causing problems too - homeless people setting up tents right outside the BBC Hull office: https://www.facebook.com/BBCLookNorth/videos/1184505874970355/

I don't think a homelessness protest interferes with broadcast equipment.

No, but it could interfere with personnel getting into the building without being harassed, attacked, etc. They could've even been making a lot of noise that was actually audible from the studio, for all we know! Point is, they haven't been specific about what the technical issues were. It could just be an excuse.

But what do you expect them to say? The third grommet on the right of the second ragamuffin is faulty?

There is no harassment of BBC staff that I am aware of - just local politicians who have failed to house people. The council want them out of Queens gardens before sh!tty of Culture starts. There is a very expensive firework display planned for new years eve and in Hull City Council's minds a bunch of unwashed oiks in the Rosebowl doesn't look very good. Smile
