Pre recorded Lorraine in the GMB studio this morning due to "technical problems"

Is it pre recorded today as usual on a Friday or live because Gaby's hosting?

I notice that it seems to be very makeshift which obviously implies technical difficulties with studio 3 whether recorded or live but the lighting seems to have improved through the programme accenting various areas through 'Lorraine' tones

Definitely pre recorded as photos were posted on twitter before they happened on TV "live" there was also no interaction with Gaby during the handover even though they were supposed to be in the same room.

What's the difference?

With the clock that is?

Lorraine didn't look too bad from studio 5 today. The accent lighting they used made the studio look different too the standard gmb look.

The other week when they had technical difficulties, the main output with the logo, clock and ticker was 'jumping'. So viewers saw the reserve feed which doesn't carry the logo, etc. (The studio/gallery only noticed this because of a tweet sent in as the studio monitors would presumably show what the gallery sees, not what the actual ITV channel sees.)

So they brought up a 'back up' logo and clock (which is identical to the actual clock), which acted as a graphic like the astons (I noticed when it appeared in the 4:3 safe area rather than the current position). So this clock would also appear on the reserve feed.

Only this thread could get to the point where people are pointing out when a graphic has been replaced by an identical graphic.

To be fair, just like every other thread, you've more than likely posted on it more than anybody else. Let people comment on what they want to comment on.

They had sound issues on Lorraine on the Thursday morning, towards the end, so no doubt the didn't get it sorted in time to record Fridays in the normal studio. Isn't it a tight turn around with Loose Women also using the studio? They must start recording the Friday episode as soon as Thursday's live episode is over.

Simon Calder is appearing this morning talking about the Italy news "via videolink"

Am I right in assuming this is some sort of Skype/VoIP? There's virtually no delay, but the audio and video quality is very good.
