Jeremy Kyle not to big a step from Piers and imagine he'd fit in quite well. Mark is the more surprising choice, both by GMB and him actually doing it.

Journalist being covered by non-journalist.

As much as I dislike Piers, his journalistic background has really helped him this week on GMB, and he's come across all the better for it. I'm not sure Jeremy Kyle would cope quite so well.

I'm sure if there was another major breaking news story, Charlotte or Sean would step in. As much as Kyle doesn't have a journalistic background (despite working on the current affairs series The Kyle Files), he is a good interviewer.

Indeed, and that may well have been one of the factors that got him in. But live TV broadcasting is very different animal. Some cope with it brilliantly, others not so well. We're just gonna have to see how he copes with that.

Those radio shows, which were largely based on relationship issues led to Kyle getting the ITV gig.

That would be "the confessional" syndicated on Capital owned stations, I used to love it in my teens!
