Of course Anglia had been "Anglia News" before it was "Anglia Tonight" and before that "About Anglia" in the 80s.

For the very last revamp/refresh mere months before the first ITV generic look of Feb 2004, the 6pm programme became "Anglia News Tonight" having been called just plain old "Anglia News" since the introduction of the east/west sub-regional split in 1990.

Had it always been called "About Anglia" before 1990?

Nice library footage of an Intercity train that was about 10 years out of date even then

Can't say whether it was called it from launch, but it was called "About Anglia" long enough for people to still call the ITV local news there "About Anglia" decades after it stopped being used on-screen...

Not as bad as "ITV News Channel TV". Presumably the "TV" is there so it doesn't sound like a news channel, but surely they could've kept the "Channel Report" name in the same way as Granada.

Or 'ITV News Channel Islands'!

Yes - ITV News Channel Islands makes total sense, though ITV Channel Islands News sounds better (but breaks the ITV News brand)

As does ITV Lunchtime News and ITV Evening News. I think they're less bothered by that now. Rightly so.

They seem to have reintroduced the old type of intros they had at Quay Street, for which I mean Tony and Lucy standing in front of a huge screen at the front of the studio. The screen looks new to me (it doesn't have the ITV News logo burned into it), new angle for the Salford studio too.

They do this whenever there is a big story which has happened quite a few times over the last few months. The angle of the studio is the winter angle and I expect to see the window daylight look from next week when the clocks go forward although I have recently been told that view is not a real window from someone who visited the studios recently.

I'm sure it is. I'd prefer then to stick with the newsroom backdrop tbh.

I think it is time for some kind of refresh to be honest maybe with the regional news and graphics.

Why? What's wrong the the current, three-year-old look?
