I was surprised that Fred Talbot was described as the "ex weatherman" - does that mean that he wouldn't return to the programme if he does clear his name?

I doubt he would, to be honest. Not to Granada at least.

As I mentioned sometime ago I doubt he'd ever return to Granada full time if he gets cleared, but I guess it's a case of how the trial goes now. He was a full time weather forecaster at Granada so I'm surprised they haven't employed someone else, especially with Jo Blythe being on maternity leave.
Who is bad at Salford Quays in terms of weather presenters? I always thought Emma was based in Birmingham and Kerrie in Leeds?
I think they should get a new weather person because even if Fred is cleared; he may wish to retire in the future and they can have someone in the waiting. I agree with nwt2003; I doubt he would return if cleared anyway.
Kerrie and Emma are both freelance and are based in Salford. Fred and Jo were both contracted part-time however both of course not on screen presently.
Thanks for posting, VMPhil. Was still in work when that was shown so really appreciate watching it now. A fitting tribute for a lovely person. I don't mind admitting that my eyes were welling up during that final montage of clips.
Thanks for that Phil, was also working so missed in on the TV. I was hoping Granada would do something big for her, always great being part of this region and Granada Reports did a great tribute to a fantastic lady.

Hmmmm, I can't help thinking that it's a bit over the top to devote almost 20 minutes of a news programme to it though. How much was the news section? 5 minutes? Was there nothing else going on in the North West yesterday?

It would probably only have been SnowWatch had Anne Kirkbride not died.
