Has anyone heard Gareth's new single by the way? Now that isn't too bad a song, but Gareth's voice, it's... well, ugh!


I dont like Gareth Gates much either - I dont know how on earth he managed to get Record of the year last year - people were voting for him not the song.

I actually hate him more than Will Young. They both get on my wick but Gareth Gates is a little pretty boy whose mouth is full of more PR spin than Mr Blair.

His "auto"biography proves that.

I agree with you - Gareth Gates is so annoying. Will is ok looking I suppose but so not my type, - I never understood why he didnt come out and say he was Gay until after Pop Idol was over - was he scared people wouldnt vote or something? THe other guy in the final 10 who was voted our first came out didnt he?

Was it just me or did the ITV2 logo on these promos look joined up - not broken into squars.

Re: Pop Idol Extra. I wonder if ITV1 will have a Monday / Friday 5pm edition like Popstars: The Rivals Extra did last year.

Yes now you mention it I think the logo on the promo was joined up. I prefer it like that anyway.

As for the Pop Idol Extra - anything would be better than the endless Classic Millionaire at 5.30pm.

I don't know why everyone is suddenly having a go at Gareth Gates, what's he done to you, entered a competition and managed to win it because he can sing well, there's many more people on tv who haven't got any skills but still manage to be on everything.

The thing is he didnt win - he came 2nd and everyone makes a bigger deal over Gareth Gates than they do with Will Young. I just dont like him. Personally I would have preferred Darius to win - I think he is much better than EITHER of them.

Well, it looks like the Pop Idol / Fame Academy clash might only last a few weeks, as its being suggested on Digital Spy in an article that the weekly performance and expulsion show might move to a Wednesday like some of the entry shows have been.

Only the winner should get the contract. The rest should have their vocal cords cut Twisted Evil and never be allowed to release a single. Alternatively, they should be locked up somewhere that the public can never hear them sing - perhaps the Fame Academy!!! Very Happy

Really looking forward to the new series this year - I'm sure they won't disappoint. Glad to see the four judges are back once again and no doubt we'll have some amusing moments. I noticed all the magazines are plastered with Pop Idol stuff this week - seems that everyone is looking forward to just some half decent programming on Saturday night once again!
