Crying or Very sad

It seems like The Vault for this year is being finished earlier than planned, due to poor ratings perfomances. On other threads, it says the last episode will air next Tuesday 25th August - 2 weeks earlier than planned. On other websites, it says that next week, Twister will be replacing The Vault and The Block and so next weeks episode has been cancelled. So I'm not sure whether it has finished NOW or NEXT WEEK.

But it will be a huge shame. I hope they bring The Vault back in better slot next year. Wednesday nights would be good. It is a GOOD show with a GOOD presenter and so I don't know why it has only been getting around the 3 million viewers mark this year. Maybe because:-

- It has been up against Holby City on BBC1
- Only 1 person has won the jackpot this year

Even so, I hope they aren't axeing The Vault for good. With a few tweaks here and there and putting it in a new timeslot, it would do well.

Why not put on the remaining 2 episodes of The Vault on Wednesday night at 8.00pm straight after Coronation Street without an advert break in between???

Then we'll see how well it does!!!! Very Happy Very Happy

from what I have been told ITV have demoted "The Block" and "The Vault" to non-primetime slots in their schedule. There has been no mention so far about ending "The Vault" earlier than planned.

Afraid not, ITV are disappointed with the ratings, even though last time when it was on our screens on a Saturday night it did badly, but they recomissioned it and moved it, sadly the ratings haven't improved, so financially it is a good move for ITV to pull it, as the prize is at least £100,000 per episode and it probably costs hundreds and thousands of pounds more to produce, but if the advertising revenue doesn't match that and they're making a loss then they have no better choice to pull it.

As it is a live show I am afraid they will just stop and finish the week after next for good, if it was recorded they would show it, but knowing ITV it would be shown on a Thursday or Sunday at 11.30pm, but AFAIK ITV haven't recomissioned it.

A shame really as I agree it is a good programme, it is something good for Prime Time, but it goes out on the wrong night, and showing it in the middle of Summer when there's no good successful programmes before it is a bad mistake, as the majority of people who would be watching Eastenders usually stay on 1 to watch Holby City, I personally think that Wednesday would have been a better choice for The Vault, as it would have Corrie to back it.

Though the show has had some problems and still needed the odd thing sorted out, they should have kept with it, or at least moved it to a better slot.

Though our good friend Mr Pickard is like this, if a show is doing badly it will get pulled, though I am glad they've seen sense and pulled The Block, but all of the other ones (If you don't know what they are, here they are: The Vault, Making Waves, Family, Single, Fortysomething, Judgement Day) were just pulled in weeks and weren't given time to develop.

Though this will lose ITV (the Network and PLC) a hell of a lot of money as The Vault is probably quite expensive to produce and now ITV has to give back money to advertisers for programmes that haven't got the ratings that ITV have hoped.

Digiguide says that The Vault and The Block are still on next week and Twister is on the following week. This also means it'll get in the TV listings so it won't be a case of a 'change to the advertised programme'

I get the feeling The Vault isn't being dropped due to poor ratings as such as it's almost the end of the series and if this was the case it would have been dropped weeks ago, it just seems to be as a consequence of dropping The Block so that they can now fit in a 2 hour film rather than just an hour filler programme.
