I'm confused about this discussion about the news being scheduled... are we saying that ITV News shouldn't be scheduled full stop because UTV Ireland doesn't show ITV News?
Yes, but for some reason it was in the published schedule today at 13:25, so someone forgot to remove it. No idea what actually happened on air.
My guess (and it's only a guess) is that whoever prepares the published schedules at UTV Ireland starts with the ITV network (or UTV NI) schedule as a base. It's the only explanation I can think of for a programme they don't even have the rights to air appearing.

No idea on the first point, Yeah they're only running a 15 minute Ireland Live at 10:45, following Piers Morgan's interview of Donald Trunp at 10:00pm (aired by ITV on Friday night).
Couple of questions - do UTV still take an ITV clean feed overnight. They used to have ITV idents but without voiceover. Also, the schedule identical overnight now?
I think they do - they did last I checked - but there isn't much of an overnight schedule any more, it's nearly all teleshopping and Nightscreen now.
The "without voiceover" part is a relatively recent phenomenon and only came in the 2000s when UTV and STV obtained a semi-clean feed with no CA. Prior to that UTV had the normal ITV Nightime CAs.
That's the sort of thing which could ironically actually stop with an ITV takeover. Presumably playout overnight is automated anyway so couldn't they just play it out with UTV branding instead?
Digiguide has ITV Nightscreen listed on UTV Ireland every night from tonight, I wonder if this is another error in the listings or if it is genuinely being aired.
