I believe Border wasn't yet owned by Granada when the hearts were introduced either.
Yeah, they got taken over by GMG a few months later. Had they been Granada-owned at the time, the chopsticks logo would have probably been on the ident (Granada brought it back on the purple endcap).
I think the issue more so is that, as far as I always understood, the Hearts idents and branding were an ITV Network initiative, not a Granada one?
