I don't think UTV have a live dedicated stream, but if you wanted to watch the UTV News bulletins etc you can watch it on ITV UTV catch up section - http://www.itv.com/utvprogrammes
You can change your home location on TVCatchup to Belfast - or at least you used to - which usually switches you to UTV when you click on ITV.
To conclude my thoughts on this thread: for me, what's happening this weekend and from tomorrow beyond is yes, the end of an era - but not just for Julian Simmons, but the many men and women who have worked as announcers, transmission controllers, channel directors and in other transmission support roles at Havelock House since 1959. They deserve as much a tribute for what they've achieved as one person, as without them all, UTV wouldn't have made it to air.
Because viewers being "used to" one particular scheduling/timing pattern has stopped TV bosses from ever changing any scheduling/timing patterns in the whole history of television?
I must have imagined the era(s) when telly didn't even
start up
until after 9am each day. Or when ITV's main early evening news was done-and-dusted
before
6pm (and variously started at 5.40pm/5.45pm). Or when different ITV regional news programmes were variously 30/35/60 minutes long, each starting at either 5.55pm, 6pm, 6.25pm or 6.30pm. Or when the last programme on BBC1 before the Six o'Clock News started at 5.35pm (Neighbours) rather than 5.15pm as now (Weakest Link/Pointless)...

They certainly do.
This is a deep thought…
With the hindsight that UTV was such a minor player in the ITV network, then consider the situation if a decision had been made in 1959 that Northern Ireland will not have its own ITV company but instead the ITV service will be provided by the London weekday and weekend ITV companies with separate local news and a few opt outs for local interest programmes.
Instead of UTV we could have had idents for: Rediffusion Ulster, Thames and Lagan TV, Londonderry Weekend Television, and Carlton NI.
Any ideas how different things would have been on screen in Northern Ireland over the decades?
The new thread may be primed for an 05:59-ish start, but...
Is it not the case that NI gets an overnight network ITV ident leading into GMB, with the first proper sighting of UTV not being until 09:25?
That was the case when UTV was being run locally, but if there's a full switch to network running UTV - then I suspect it'll be 05:59.
There's also the question about overnights. When ITV1 Wales had its own (recorded) continuity it didn't happen during night time. UTV might be different, we'all find out soon.
With regards to UTV during ITV Breakfast, obviously as reported the other week the new UTV DOG appeared in error during GMB. Worth noting that since then the ITV DOG hasn't appeared during GMB hours, when apparently it should.
I highly doubt the new look will debut at 5:59am, 9:25am seems more certain.
I agree on 9.25am, however I presume that now the UTV DOG will be shown during GMB as there will no longer be a separate 6am-9.25am services in terms of technical switching (although they will still be separate franchises).
UTV doesn't start up until 9:25am so it will debut then.
The franchise starts at 9:25, but the branding may be different.

I know I have slagged off UTV in the past including their axing of local programmes in the last few years but it is a shame it is now out of local control and all be done in England and while some said it was dated it is also a shame the IVC is going as well as it made UTV feel different from BBC NI. I'm sorry to see a success story for NI with UTV and their radio stations across the UK destroyed by their launch in Ireland and is being dismantled slowly and it will keep coming over the next few years when Havelock House is sold and the UTV name will probably disappear in the future.
The long answer is unless there becomes a point where scheduling dictates moving from that junction I see no reason for it to happen - indeed arguably less reason now than when ITV didn't own the breakfast licence. ITV seem to have no reason to change the scheduling of Lorraine or Jeremy Kyle, although if one of the two did quit in the next few years rather than find a replacement they could rejig the schedule and extend GMB and This Morning to cover the gap left, which might result in the 9.25 starting point being moved.
I have a feeling they'd be tempted to move Lorraine to a 9:30 slot if they owned STV, and extend GMB. They wouldn't do it right now as Lorraine is number one in Scotland so they'd be stupid to risk losing a chunk of the revenue to STV.
