Just like Fraggle rock its possible Mr Majeika isnt owned by TVS, there just made the series but the rights and show went back to the creator?

Any ideas where they sourced the video material? Was it from the TVS archive or was it from video tapes outside of the TVS archive that existed before 1993?
Could it even be possible that the creators of certain TVS productions took the master tapes off TVS after the series had finished being broadcast so the tapes never ended up in the TVS archive?

Don't forget that the archive was still owned by IFE in the mid 90s, so still readily available to exploit.

unless you believe the rumor people at TVS were already destroying the paperwork in 1992/93

First tiem I've ever heard that one! Everything I've before suggests it went missing around the time of the IFE sale to Fox.
Yes, TVS Entertainment kept Maidstone and the archive in order to sell it on, so at no point would they be looking to destroy any of it.
I find this quite a sad clip... It was a station with such a lot of promise and professionalism. Their 1989 'look' is probably the earliest example of uniform on-screen identity.

I have lost count of the number of rumours but this is going from bad to worse. TVS recorded over some of their older news tapes in their final year but not a shred of evidence exist that they destroyed any paperwork detailing the rights to programmes.

Could the documentation detailing the rights to TVS programmes have been stored in the IFE offices in the US rather than in the Maidstone Studios at the time of the IFE sale to Fox? It superficially makes sense that if the documentation was separated from the TVS archive tapes by several thousand miles then Fox would have no idea what it related to because they didn't have the tapes, so ended up disposing of it without anybody batting an eyelid. If IFE had moved the documentation detailing the rights to TVS programmes over to the US then somebody from the Maidstone Studios must have known about it so are able to confirm or discredit my theory.

I do believe the paper work was in the UK until 1997 after that who knows. If not then IFE or fox must have know where the paper work was to it could give Challenge the TVS gameshows to broadcast for 4 years.
Did Challenge try to renew the licence to broadcast TVS gameshows after 4 years or did they drop them from their schedule? If so, then who was involved in trying to extend the licence and who did they ask about the documentation?
