The show itself over the last few years has turned into something of a cringe fest. I don't know why Dermot has to drag everything out and make a joke at every opportunity.

Can we get Sir Trev back for next year?

I'm glad you've said that. I thought I was just in a weird mood, but I've had to mute it several times tonight due to cringing to the point of discomfort.

And can the award presenters get professional writers if they're going to insist on telling jokes before the nominations? It's painful.

Always felt it was wrong Ant and Dec were nominated as one anyway but found it especially annoying this year for obvious reasons. It would have been nice to see Dec nominated individually for the BGT Live shows. He deserves the award for that, but as things stand would like Holly to win.

Would you really have had a situation where one of them won, and the other didn’t, and in theory the same one may have won every year.

If it was the children’s awards would you have voted for Sam separately from Mark, or Dick separately from Dom?

I can understand Brekkie's point.

It would be a bit like Philip Schofield and Holly Willoughby (who present more than one show together) being nominated together.

That’s very different though, they aren’t a double act.

It's excruciatingly bad. I've had to mute the TV tonight on several occasions as well.

The show seems a bit of a mess tonight. I don't know why they insist of having the presenters of awards read out the nominees names. They are always way out of time, miss a name out, or the sound isn't right. It's all over the place.

8:33pm and a swear bomb was dropped on a nominee clip. Cue Ofcom.

Probably a good idea not to shower Dermot and half the guests in confetti midway through the show!

Is it still Grampian that will have to explain that one - or Channel tv, these days Laughing ?

Swearage on live TV, can be explained away - but on a pre-recorded package, where you'd think everything would be checked and double checked for compliance for the time it would air? Hmm...

They're having real trouble in getting the names read out during the nominations tonight. It usually happens on one or two awards but it's been on most of them tonight.

We're either catching them mid-chat to someone or Danny DeVito arguing that they had told him to not say any names.

Someone gave Danny Devito the wrong instructions and is gonna be fired tomorrow

Jings, I wonder how UK viewers would cope with channels like RTL4 and SBS6?

They'd hyperventilate at the fact that swearing is never bleeped out, even during the day.
