I agree that awarding Ant and Dec was a sham, record or no record. Dec has presented solo and also with Holly. Ant didn't deserve the award, and to his credit, he knows he didn't. You can just tell. I imagine it's been a bit embarrassing for him infact.

I'm going to sound like I'm being defensive here, but I don't care what you think. I have always been a fan of Ant & Dec ever since the glory days of Saturday morning kid's TV. They keep winning awards because they have that special chemistry in which lots of people find likeable and even relatable. I was happy to see Ant back on telly again on the night of the NTA's, it's not been the same without him. Even if he was away for the majority of last year, it's not as if he wasn't on telly at all, so I think it still counts.
As for the NTA's as a whole, it was a cringe to watch at times! It's obvious that they don't rehearse the show....well, except for the guest artistes who are performing of course.

I'm not sure anyone can quibble with the result - after all the results are voted by the viewers and that's that. If the show was well produced, the same winners/nominees each year wouldn't be so much of an issue.
However, I wouldn't mind a rule banning nominations from constantly plugging the vote leading up to the ceremony. There are some shows that refrain from this (possibly because they're not allowed) and if ITV Daytime were told to shut up about the awards, it might make some of the outcomes more interesting. Even for categories that weren't Daytime related (constantly plugging the vote on ITV Daytime will skew the overall results based on the type of people being funnelled to the voting site).

Great, now maybe ITV can get a better host for the NTAs.
