I'm suprised that there hasn't been more outrage on this. Does this mean then that the names Granada, Yorkshire, Anglia, Meridian, TTTV and LWT are being consigned to the dustbin?
Although it was inevitable, let's not forget that GMG are a bunch of ****
s who don't know how to run a TV station. They are the televisual equivalent of the GWR radio group who can't run radio. (See my thread in 'The Lounge' for more on this waste of radio)
It's only like having the Carlton name used across 3 different regions and that might be reverting back to Central/Westcountry again soon.

Can I just say that I knew there would be a few sceptical people after I posted to this forum concerning the itv1 generic look. That is to be expected, with good reason. However, I am not trying to fool anyone and I'm not hoaxing either.
The problem is that I can't really give much information away. Although I am not directly employed by Granada, it's just to much of a risk to say much more than that already mentioned. The more observant of you would have noticed that it was my first post as well, therefore there would be a strong possibility that is was a wind up. To be honest, I couldn't be bothered to wind anybody up about TV presentation. Better things to do with me time. I have actually posted to various forums before, but under different names. My name is not Craig, and I refuse to give my name for obvious reasons.
The idents I have seen are more or less similar to the current Christmas idents. The [itv1] logo is in blue and yellow, with an image of itself reflected - again just like the Christmas ident. The [itv1] logo is in the same place as that of the Christmas ident'. Infact, the christmas ident is a derivative of this new generic ident. As for the ident looking similar to a mock designed by someone (sorry can't remember name), well it sort of looks similar(ish). It does indeed have a yellow and white background. From memory, there are blocks, some are blue and some are yellow. These pan into the screen from the right and move towards the left. That's about all the animation there is, exept for the [itv1] logo initially moving into positions at the start of the sequence (just like Christmas ident).
I wish I had a copy to upload, but I'm afraid I don't. Only Leeds and Southhampton have them. All Southhampton continuity is going to be moved to Leeds, and this is expected to happen in February 2002. It has been suggested that HTV West will get it's continuity from HTV Wales just incase anybody was wondering. I can't confirm that however.
