And it's first few series were recorded at the now demolished Limehouse Television in the docklands.

No they weren't, they closed in 1989- before HIGNFY even began.

They were recorded in the studios Limehouse moved in to after though- which later became Fountain.

Apparently the last ever recording at TLS - last night's Have I Got News For You - was filmed in Studio 1 as opposed to its usual home of Studio 2. If correct, fitting that the last show comes from the iconic Studio 1.

Footnote: I'm guessing this probably isn't the first time HIGNFY has come from another studio there in its near 30 year history of recordings at TLS. I do remember it coming from TVC one election year, as they had to record it on Friday morning and SM:TV Live was in TLS Studio 2. I guess it was 2001.

You’re correct that it was recorded in Studio 1. Studios 2’s floor is currently full of technical equipment that has been removed from service prior to being shipped out.

Frank Skinner presenting the last show at TLS.

You know, it would have been a nice touch, if for the last shot of the show, before the presenter slow pull back shot, Denis Norden (I know sadly there are vision problems with the old maestro these days) could have taken the seat, and said the "goodbye" line to close out.

Denis is probably the oldest of the 'regular 1970's/1980's LWT presenters' still going strong, so he would have been great to have said the last word, on the last show to come from the studio complex - in it's current form.

And we all though the Chase would be the last thing to come from studio 1!

I wonder will there be any mention at all of HIGNFY about their last show from TLS?

Well nothing from HIGNFY about the last edition from TLS. At least Graham did a nice caption and photo at the end of his final show from TLS. Anyway, from October they will be in Elstree Studios.

Frank did refer to the show being like being the end-of-term... which we of course know meant the last from TLS. Maybe it will me mentioned in the extended repeat.

I assumed that referred to the show being the last in the series.

The HIGNFY team did ‘do’ a nice thank you to the TLS studios, but it was not for public consumption.

It's been on several groups on Facebook, so hopefully it's ok to post here: *

Yes I saw this tweet which includes a group photo with Ian and Paul. I also assume this is okay to post as it is a public tweet.
