As for ratings, they won't change over night, but the content has been excelled this past week, and the lighter mixes are working well. Hopefully they stick to this and don't remove news any further.

I agree, it was on the wane a little bit towards Christmas, but since it has come back I've found it a lot more watchable, and there's been plenty of time given to the main News, and their coverage from Paris has also been fairly decent. Not as much time has been given to silly stuff too, the sugar free campaign as you stated has gone quiet, there was a feature this morning about old wives remedies for colds and flu, but I guess at this time of year it is to be expected.

My only gripe since they've changed the show is the timings of the Regional News and the National Weather, I liked it being at the old times, but considering they've gone back to the same times as GMTV and Daybreak it is tolerable.

Ratings won't change overnight, and I doubt they'll over take BBC Breakfast but I guess the main aims are to be a close second and a strong enough audience share.

I know BBC Breakfast is a stronger programme for News and has the full backing of BBC News, but it's a programme that bores the arse off me in the mornings, for me it doesn't have the same charm and appeal as GMB.
TV Archive, VMPhil and fanoftv gave kudos

So this new desk is a smaller replicate of the old desk. What on earth is going on.

They seem to bounce off each other with John being the serious anchor for the news.

I noticed Richard Arnold played up on Kate's sofa appearance introducing himself as though she's new with Suzanna replying "she'll be appearing regularly".

I've noticed that the sugar free campaign has disappeared on the programme this week, unless it hasn't been mentioned until much later on.

It was mentioned at 6am this morning - Kate and John admitting they wouldn't commit to it.

I assume you're joking or you must have missed their in-depth discussion with Josie from Big Brother about whether you'd tell your friend they were fat Shocked or the gripping piece about running out of Cocoa for crème eggs and numerous non news items aimed at the "mums" demo. Oh and Ross King or Arnold cannot be blamed for any of it.

GMB ratings don't seem much improved by the changes. Seems stuck at around 500,000-600,000 around 14-15% share.

Breakfast at 1.5-1.6million around 38-39% share.

Also down a big chunk year on year from the dying days of Daybreak amazingly. Awful figures for January. No wonder they're constantly making changes.

Yes I did miss this. Sometimes I do have to wonder if they're reporting on something in the best way. Every radio station on my drive to work over the past couple of days has mentioned the creme egg story. What other items were featured that I missed?

Overall though the balance is better. The content over the past week looking at the Paris attacks has been very good.

I love the fact that when questioned about whether he'd tried to commit to Sugar Free GMB just after 6am this morning, John especially responded with "nah".

The music has changed a tad once again, a remix of the old and new is now the new theme. Most noticeable on the BOTH.
