The Final Few Hours of ITV1 Celebrity Idents

Well, let's have a quick recap of what we're expecting on Monday morning:

- There will be a small variety of idents, all graphical, for both ITV1 and ITV2 (different of course), whilst there will be "Cube in Scenes" idents for ITV3
- There will be new break-bumpers and break-flashes for all three channels
- Trailer, Promotion and Menu graphics will be completely new designs
- Next slides and in-programme Next captions will be completely new designs
- During primetime, there will be no idents - Now/Next/Later slides and/or Cross-Channel Promotions will be used instead
- During daytime, on ITV1, there will be a completely separate style of presentation
- Cross-Channel Promotions will feature heavily during ad-breaks
- ITV News and Weather, both national and regional, will remain as they are now
- New stings for such things as Movie Premieres, Drama Premieres, Football and Formula One may be introduced (though there has only just been a new Drama Premieres sting, so that may be unlikely)

Anyone have anything to add, or disagree with what I've just said?

I think that sounds about right, well, we are entering the final day of the celeb idents and itv1 logo, i may shed a tear.

UTV2 ceased to exist on Friday, 5th January 2002! I presume you meant UTV.

Monday. Tut. What an awful day for a relaunch. Why? Because it's actually forcing me to look *forward* to Monday, which is something I'm not generally happy about doing.

How come there is nothing relating to this on ITV.com or have been no change to the logos on itv.com ??

Perhaps because the new look hasn't yet launched?

Will ITV do that montage thing again after GMTV?

No he did mean UTV2, that was the whole point in his post! UTV idents had been described to him so he asked what UTV2's were like.

A montage of what exactly? Last time there were loads and loads of idents created where they could pick small segments of each celebrity and glue them together to make the one minute introduction thingy each morning. BUT - I cant see anything happening this time as it is only going to be graphical content. So it would become very boring to show a set of cut-up graphical stings each morning (ie wasteful of airtime!)

Show that again then! But this time it could have a new ident at the end.
If it does get new idents tomorrow then a best bits would be good!

It will be interesting to see how the refresh the ITV2 look. So we will be seeing the first ITV1 new look promotions during GMTV tomorrow, like last September. Also interesting on the BDA site, that they are using clouds as a background, sure they chose that for a reason?

Exactly correct gottago. I have seen those UTV idents before. UTV2 had a very short life & was a rename of TV You. Both UTV2/ TV Your & S2 (Scottish 2) DIDN'T appear on Sky so had a very low audience. I have seen S2 idents before & TV You but not UTV 2 they used to have a logo on UTV's website but this has now gone unless I am looking in the wrong place?

I'll look on Google to see if i can find the old image, sometimes it crops up on there
