Re Brookside I can't undertand why this still is not being repeated on one of the many 100's of channels we have...
Vintage Corrie & Emmerdale (Farm) used to be shown on Granada Plus back in the day, but we don't really see classic UK soaps on TV these days.
You're more likely to find vintage Dallas etc . . .
It used to be shown on UK Living and then Sky One but I'm not sure it got decent ratings beyond episodes from 1995 and onwards. I agree it's worthy of a repeat.
I've always wondered why we've never had decade specific themed channels.

I know 7TWO in Australia have been running Home and Away from the start and are now somewhere around the 1994 mark. Every episode of that still exists so I'm surprised Viacom haven't nabbed it for 5*.
It's a lot for both viewers and the channel to commit too though - and viewers don't commit because they know sooner or later the channel won't commit either and pull the show.
G.O.L.D. continued showing Neighbours for a short while after the comedy-only rebrand, presumably it wasn't worth moving to Watch for the short time (or rights issues).

You're right, they carried on showing it for quite a few months after the rebrand until their rights expired.
G.O.L.D was showing double episodes of Neighbours at 5.30am and 6am and finished on Episode 5330 on the 6/11/2008. This was the final episode that was broadcast on the BBC, which is where UKTV sourced their copies from.
5+24 had some sort of playout problem during Can't Pay We'll Take It Away a few hours ago. I left the room when an ad break started and within 30 seconds the programme was back on, as though the ad break didn't happen. At the next break, there was a minute of black with just the DOG on screen, before four minutes of adverts played out.

You mean 5+24 was actually showing a programme? Every time I've tuned in it's always those teleshopping infomercials.
Pretty sure 5+24 is its own channel as it has its own continuity and idents, and the daytime schedule varies from a direct rebroadcast of the previous day.
