They did that the other day during a double bill, and then called it The Stetsons before the second episode. If this is an in-joke, it's starting to get a bit excessive considering we've had no explanation.

Today wasn't a double bill. I should have been clearer, the first quote was said over the closing credits on whatever preceded The Simpsons and the second quote was over the ident just before.

I was referring to a double bill that was on the other day. I saw the junction you were referring to, and I'm still confused by what they're playing at. Whatever joke they were playing surely must've worn thin by now.

I'm not sure whether this has been mentioned, or is quite old, but today throughout drive time on Capital FM (South Yorkshire), they aired a Channel 4 advert using the pylons ident backing music & an announcer running down tonight's menu. Interesting idea if it is new.

Also played out on Heart London yesterday evening.

I noticed they had a list of the night's line up on one of those large advertising screens in Liverpool Lime Street station yesterday.

The CA said "...next though, a record breaking Simpsons" and "...first, Homer in a library? Will wonders never cease?"

He actually mentioned The Simpsons. Maybe he didn't get the memo.

Here's a bit of incredibly dull TV pres minutae which someone here might be able to explain.

In an ad break during Undercover Boss Australia, after the Channel 4 breakbumper and before an Innocent Orange Juice ad started, I saw one frame of a caption which said "Red Bee Media HD". White text on black, centred in the screen. (I just saw a flash of it, and only managed to read it through judicious use of Sky+)

The ad itself started with a fade from black - so could it have been attached to the advert itself, and just badly clipped by an MMO? Or is that their equivalent of the BBC's spinning blocks, which fills in when there's no programme content?
Or should I just get out more?

"... but next up, Bart plays Cow Boy. It's The Stetsons"

"Barts hanging with a hero now on 4, it's the Hamiltons".

I saw one of those on E4 just before during Scrubs. It wasn't for Innocent though.

Talking of ads, C4 had an "advertising premiere" last night during Shameless of the Red Bull Canimation, opening up with the sting of all the little lights making up the 4 logo which I think they've used previously to introduce a Coca-Cola ad.

It was appearing before a few of the breakbumpers this evening. Timing issues?

"...next up, wherefore art thou Bart, they do Shakespere on The Dimpsons"
"...but right now, you seek them here on 4, it's the Pimpernants" (this one kind of made sense)

The female continuity man on this evening seems to be the most enthusiastic when it comes to introducing The Simpsons in unusual ways. Maybe it was her idea.

New repeats channel planned for Channel 4:

Quote:
Channel 4 looks set to launch a new channel that would show the last seven days most popular programmes.

The plan is thought to be called ‘Project Shuffle’ and, according to sources close to the channel, it is an attempt to increase the broadcaster’s portfolio share.
