BT Sport - Launch of BT Sport Ultimate

While BT Sport still reject such niceties as opening titles and bumpers, their team/competition logos animation into and out of breaks has been altered slightly - the channel logo no longer features in the animation, instead it kinda flies out to the left.

Some programmes do get title sequences - either the competition's own, or the generic BT Sport one (coloured lines whooshing through the studio with programme logos on the screens).

Big live shows don't, though - the idea being that, when there are a few back-to-back, they just flow into each other - usually with one presenter throwing to the next. Think Grandstand , but with ad breaks instead of a linking presenter.

At a guess. There is probably guidelines about how the music can be used etc, it's probably easier for them to just us Zadok the Priest which they can do what they like with.

for reasons which nobody has been able to adequately explain to me, Man Utd v Spurs will be simulcast on BT Sport 1 and BT Sport ESPN - that's alongside the Ultra HD broadcast, which is an entirely separate production.

Some suggestion that the UHD match coverage will be downconverted and shown on BTS ESPN to test out the process. We'll soon discover.

Minor BT Sport // ESPN Dog update too.

Either they've thankfully listened to the complaints about the DOG being too big, or they need to do it to use the same lower thirds on both?

Well, it's a straight BTS1 retransmit. Heyho.

It's an odd one, I don't think anyone thought we'd see a Premier League game with the ESPN logo again. Maybe they're just stuck for something to show. At one point this afternoon Sky will show Soccer Saturday on three channels.

Strange "HD Live" logo above the ESPN logo rather than incorporated into the DOG.

It would make the DOG too long. It has to incorporate with the lower third graphics and could cover up some text.

Looks like one of the first things on BT Sport Showcase will be a simulcast of the premiere of Fear the Walking Dead.
