I wonder if anyone has started ripping signage from the walls as mementos of these long running studios

Yes, they have - there's barely any left.

Blue Peter is back in TVC today - they're using TC3 gallery, but I don't think they're using the floor, so you can expect to see some bits of the building on air.

Looks like they were outside in the "doughnut". Nice for them to return one last time - only saw the end so not sure if any other reference was made to it.

Where is CCA going when they move out - and what about all the satellite dishes at the rear?

I assume that BBC Heritage will have a close eye on the famous studio signs themselves.

A lot of them have been nicked as well to be honest.

I did the Comic Relief big chat last week and it was an absolute nightmare trying to find all the dressing rooms with all the signs stolen. If you're going to steal signs at least be like me and go for the ones that lead to parts of the building that have long been closed such as... oh I don't know... "Restaurant building via 2nd floor". Have the Blue Peter time capsules been relocated?

Edit: I've since done some searching to discover they or it (not sure how many there are) have been moved.

There are two I think - one that was buried in January 2000 in the old garden, to be opened in 2029 (as the original was buried for 29 years too), which has been relocated to somewhere in Salford. The other is from 1998 and is under the O2 - I think it's due to be opened in 2050, although I think that was based on the original projections of how long the Millennium Dome would be standing for (!) so god knows if that will actually happen.

They must be remaking that classic Roy Castle tap dancing sequence today, as I took a wander outside TVC this morning and was asked by the security guard "Are you with the tap dancers?" I spoke to him for a bit and he seemed very sad the building is closing.

"TC0" never heard of this until now, what became of it?

Wasn't it where the CBBC Channel initially broadcast from (as well as Xchange, CBBC's magazine show at the time)?

They were doing something tap-dance related on Thursday. Maybe another today?

According to Radio Times Friday's One Show will be re-creating the Roy Castle tap-dancing sequence, before linking into the Madness concert which continues over on BBC4 at 7.30pm.

Plenty of info about TC0 and indeed TC1-12 and all the rest here on this superb site, which I imagine is getting a lot of hits this month!
