Hmm, who made the decision to have the category heading and times in this mildly odd-looking heavier weight of Gill - not the norm for sentence or lower case, if I recall... An accident?

That's just Gill Sans Bold and is perfectly normal.

It isn't quite right, here's a BBC Two Menu from the 1997 Corporate period:

I suggest that it's probably that whatever generated the 1997 Corporate menus has been retired at some point, and somebody had to reproduce the same thing on a newer system. Overall they did a pretty good job.

Still nice to see something remaining from the good ole' days of uniform BBC presentation.

Fifteen years later and it still looks good.

Indeed, Will and nwtv - may it survive for some time yet, quietly tucked up in a snug corner of the overnight schedule Smile

Indeed, long may the Learning Zone be forgotten by the BBC presentation department!

Just shows up how god-awful that current menu on the previous page is.

Here is a menu from last year that Paul also posted, for comparison:

Eyes peeled for a subtle and rather nice update to the symbols.

I say "subtle", that's not really the case when it comes to the Tents, but anyway...

Yay, huge box in the centre to cover everything up (don't worry, it'll fade out after 15 seconds).

I was wondering when they were going to do something; they had to something to alleviate the mess they left, 'cos the next Daily Mail baiting rebrand doesn't look like coming along anytime soon.

Just spotted in the last junction that they're being used already. It's just the addition of "Channel of the Year", which was won in August. I can already imagine what the reaction to the Tents is going to be on here, but I think Mirror looks particularly nice.

The text almost 'floats' over the 2 as the camera zooms out on the last shot - needless to say it could be better.

Edit - 18:30 junction:
