It also appears that Mirror is the news ident as everytime I've seen the Newsnight junction it's always been Mirror.

Occasionally they've used Sunroof (a real shame, as that's a more light-hearted ident of the set).

I'm pretty sure I've seen Seascape used on one occasion ahead of Newsnight also.

Was I the only person that saw the 'Beach' variant of Tent at the junction leading into Crufts? Basically the same as the other two variants except the beach has a small fire burning on it.

Nice trailer for 'The Underdog Show' there. The endboard was a reddish pink-IIRC I dont think that colour endboard has been seen before.

Have we seen all of the variations of the idents onscreen now?

Have you not read any of this thread? No, we haven't seen them all yet.

We're still to see Chase (Climb) and there are another two variations of the current set to make the total up to 14. I guess it could be another version of Seascape and Zoetrope or perhaps a daytime variant of Mirror.

Prime example of why short idents are needed - the logo on Chase barely formed earlier before the programme started (similar example earlier on BBC One too) and just now with Timeshift (no BBC2/4 hybrid ident unfortunately) the logo didn't even get a look-in as the anno started almost straightaway and straight into the programme. The Mirror 2 hadn't fully zoomed out either.

In a world of arty idents which all look very pretty, if you've not got the junction length to fit them in, for pity's sake create short versions!

And this is where Channel 4 get it so right, they have short ones like pylon or hay bails and then longer ones to fit the junction. BBC1 & 2 just seem to stumble around trying to get it right, speaking over the music, just getting the logo appearing before the programme starts. They should just put some more thought into it.

They used Sunroof before Newsnight again last night. I agree it is a shame; especially when they have dramatic newsy idents such as Mirror and Seascape.

Incidentally I am begining to like Sunroof. The camera seems less jittery every time I see it. Perhaps because it reminds me of a 91-01 sting.

Odd how they used a Tent Beach image (chaps sitting down by the fire) on menus quite a while before they started to use the actual ident on-air - I first saw it on a 'Next' screen and didn't have a clue which sequence it was meant to represent.

That's already been on.

Blast I missed that one. The only time I've seen that version was when the new idents debuted online.
