It was never made for Halloween from the off.

"It's Scary Out There" was a season of late-night films, designed to give us extra chills on those cold winter nights. A special ident got you in the mood - this graveyard certainly isn't quiet!

Looks like it was part of a season that went out late Saturday nights in January and February 2000.

Apparently, it was also used after the season had concluded.

Most of them have held up incredibly well. If they just sorted out the dreadful wrap around around branding BBC2, imo, would be the best looking of the terrestrial channels now that Channel 4 has gone T!ts up.
They're getting a run for their money with the old new 2's. The works already been done for 'em.

I remember it was pretty regularly used before Buffy after that.

Anyone going to predict what the Christmas ident will be this year?
Will it be this from 1999?
http://hub.tv-ark.org.uk/images/bbctwo/images_idents/1997/bbc2xmas1999large.jpg
Or this from 2000?
http://hub.tv-ark.org.uk/images/bbctwo/images_idents/1997/bbc2xmas2000.jpg
Maybe they might go even further back to 1996?
http://hub.tv-ark.org.uk/images/bbctwo/images_idents/1991/bbc2xmas1996b_2_large.jpg
Or at a push, 1995?
http://hub.tv-ark.org.uk/images/bbctwo/images_idents/1991/bbc2xmas1995_susieblake_large.jpg
Or perhaps even break the twenty year barrier!

I'm going to hazard a guess at this one (yes I know its outside the current range but I don't care and I really liked this one when I first saw it):
